A tracking profile is also referred to as a tracker, campaign, site name, or marketing source in affiliate programs. These are typically used by publishers to see which traffic source and market conversions are coming from.
Mapping your tracking profiles on Routy is very useful to get a breakdown of historic data and for programs that do not support click tracking. In this article you will learn:
- Why should you map your tracking profiles
- How to map your tracking profiles
Why map your tracking profiles?
Routy has two ways of knowing which traffic sources your traffic is coming from:
- Routy tracking
- Tracking Profile Mapping
Mapping tracking profiles is a good alternative for Routy tracking in cases where:
- You are doing financial reporting per traffic source
- The program does not offer click ID reports or postback tracking
- You would like to see a breakdown by traffic source for a period BEFORE you started using Routy
How to map your tracking profiles
After Routy has crawled or connected to your affiliate accounts, it will show the tracking profiles on the account page and in the Tracking Profiles section on the sidebar. The tracking profiles are extracted from the Tracking Profile report on the affiliate program (also known as Marketing Source Report, Site Report, Campaign Report etc.)
There are two ways you can map your tracking profiles:
- Visit Tracking > Tracking Profiles page on the sidebar of Routy to view all your tracking profiles
- Visit the account via the Accounts page on Routy, and find the Tracking Profiles section to view your tracking profiles from the specific account
Tracking Profiles page
When you enter the Tracking Profiles page, you can find a list of all your tracking profiles. Toggle the Unmapped Only switch to filter for those trackers that are not yet mapped, as shown below. You can also filter for a specific account or profile there.
