Trial Steps & Checklist
Our recommendation when starting your trial would be to get the following steps done:
- Start your trial (as explained in the section above)
- Add 1 traffic source
- If the traffic source is a website add the Routy tracking pixel to your website's global header (any website with a decent amount of traffic)
- Add 3-5 affiliate accounts (generating substantial traffic & revenue on your traffic source)
- Add affiliate links of the onboarded accounts you are promoting on that traffic source to Routy
- Replace your original affiliate links each generated Routy link on your website
Once you complete the above steps, these would be the expected outcomes to ensure your onboarding has been successful:
|How to check
|Routy is successfully crawling your accounts
|Check the Crawling Status page and ensure Routy does not have any error messages for the accounts.
|The Reporting Dashboards will show accurate data for those 3-5 accounts
|Use the Accounts and Traffic Source Dashboards to ensure your account data is accurate
|If you added a website as a traffic source, Routy is able to pass the session id (eid parameter) effectively on your traffic source
Firstly, make sure that your pixel is showing a heart beat.
Secondly, use the Page Level Dashboard to check that your clicks are showing at a page level
Note: You may still see a significant number of clicks with no page - these are bots
<30 mins for pixel heart beat
~3 hours for clicks to show at a page level
|The BI Dashboards will show deep level data such as which pages are driving conversions, which brands are working best on which markets and your player value
If you have set up your Routy links, use the BI dashboards to check that you can see clicks and any conversions.
All conversions passing through Routy links on affiliate programs that support click reporting should show in these dashboards.
Please note that the insights you get will be limited, as this will only be over a short period and for 3-5 accounts, however the main idea is to ensure the process is working, and catching any potential issues. Should you run into any issues during your trial, please be sure to set up a ticket or use our live chat to inform us.
Quick tip: It is important to understand that Routy consists of two functions - the tracking function (tracking views and clicks on your traffic source), and the crawling function (extracting data from affiliate backends). Once it has these two pieces of data, Routy works its magic and gives you visibility on the full user journey, and will change the way your business uses data.
